Qualification Details:
There are 137 Army Public Schools (APS) located in various Cantonments and Military Stations across India. These schools are administered and managed by local Army authorities and affiliated to CBSE through Army Welfare Education Society (AWES).
There are approximately 8000 teachers on the rolls of these schools. Out of these, a large number get turned over every year due to various reasons.

Age: New Candidates: under 40 (in case of Delhi schools (less than 5 years of experience) the candidate must be in the age group according to DSEA & R), Experienced Candidates: under 57 ( in the case of Delhi according to DSEA and R)

Note:
The exact number of vacancies available in the respective school will be announced by the School/Management while advertising for holding interviews/evaluation of teaching skills. In the last two years, the number of vacancies was 2315 and 2169 in different categories respectively.
Selection process:
1. The selection of teachers will be carried out in three phases: –
(a) Phase 1: Screening examination. An ‘Online Selection Test’ will be held on November 21-22, 2020 for vacancies that will arise during the following academic year. This will be done online by an agency centrally identified by HQ AWES, to ensure uniform quality of teachers in all Army Public Schools. . Those who qualify at this stage will receive a ‘Scorecard’ that is valid for life, provided the candidate holds a teaching position for a continuous duration of at least approximately three years from the date of the passing exam at any school affiliated with CBSE. With a scorecard, the candidate can appear for the remaining stages of the selection process. In addition to new candidates, they can also appear for the selection test: –
(i) Scorecard holders who want to improve their scores.
(ii) Those who want to update. For example A candidate who holds the TGT Scorecard may now want to obtain a PGT scorecard, having obtained an additional qualification. Note that carrying a scorecard is not in itself an appointment as a teacher in any Army Public School. This only makes you eligible for phases 2 and 3 of the selection process.
(b) Stage 2: Interview. As stated in the note in paragraph 2 above, the respective schools must make the seats available in different ways such as local newspapers, the school website, bulletin board, etc. Candidates would have to apply in response to these announcements. Interviews may or may not take place on site. It can be held at a convenient location in one of the other schools at the discretion of the local authority.
(c) Phase 3: Assessment of teaching skills and computer skills. For language teachers, a written test is presented with an essay and comprehension of 15 points each, along with the assessment of teaching skills. The selection committee can also conduct computer proficiency tests if desired.
2. To qualify for the Teaching Skills Interview and Assessment, candidates must have passed the Online Selection Test. It is scheduled for November 21 and 22, 2020 in various centers throughout the country. General guidelines for candidates are given in the following paragraphs.
How to apply:
1. Candidates must register ONLINE for the selection exam by logging into the Registration Portal http://aps-csb.in. The registration portal will be open from October 1, 2020 to October 20, 2020. Candidates can register from 10 a.m. M. From October 1, 2020 until 5 p.m. From October 20, 2020. Thereafter, the portal will be closed for registration. The procedure to follow is as follows: –
(a) Fill in the personal information or the application form.
(b) The system will ask candidates to pay the exam fee ONLINE. Payment options are debit / credit cards / net banking. A payment gateway has been integrated into the website for this purpose and candidates will be guided through the payment process.
(c) After payment of the amount, the system asks the candidates to add the following documents: photographs and signatures, proof of date of birth, academic qualification certificates.
(d) Once registration is complete, candidates will receive a confirmation that registration was successful. Candidates will also be informed by email and SMS.
(e) A ‘helpline’ will be made available to candidates to request assistance until the end of the exam. The helpline tab is available on the portal http://aps-csb.in
(f) Candidates can take simulated tests ONLINE to familiarize themselves with the examination procedure. A link for this will be available on the Registration Portal from November 4, 2020 to November 13, 2020.
